The force feedback triggers are god damn genius and so much fun, the controller is comfortable as hell, but Sony dropped the ball with the DS5, it should have paddles built in. I like M/KB better regardless, but at least the DS4 with paddles can compete. In the meanwhile, I've stopped playing D2 on my PS5 when I'm being lazy and I just go play it on PC. Right now the only other option would be spending a ton of money on a device that tricks the PS5 into thinking I'm using a DS5. I'm basically stuck waiting for Collective Minds to figure out a way to make a Strikepack for the DS5 (or someone else) so that it reaches parity with a DS4. The performance is wonderful, using a controller without paddles is not. There should be no reason my experience with Destiny 2 or The Last of Us 2 is worse on PS5 than on PS4, but without being able to use a fully functional controller, they are. I want to love the DualSense as well but it is a basic reality that a DS4 with paddles is a better controller to use for playing Destiny 2 (and most games that were not made with DS5 in mind). I personally really love the Dualsense and want to see more games fully utilize it, and ensuring all PS5 owners will be using one is the best way to go. In short, yes its technically an artificial limitation but I think there's a good justification for it (ignoring the potential bottom-line aspect of selling more controllers). Eventually Dualsense ends up like Xbox Kinect - viewed as a gimmick that nobody wants or needs despite the overwhelming potential. Or if there is a game that requires it (like Returnal) and the player potentially does not have a Dualsense, now you have a whole new batch of problems like how to inform the user Dualsense is required and how that will reduce general game sales as now only part of the PS5 audience can actually play it. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creeschīasically its a vicious cycle, if nobody uses the Dualsense (because DS4 is cheaper or already owned), developers won't create features for it, and therefore nobody will have reason to buy one./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
